We took a trip to Scott Park in Burnley to see Santa and spend some time playing with friends.

Our day got off to a flying start, pun totally intended, as we started with some free fairground rides. These included Little Miss’s favourite, the chair swings.

Then we followed a trail around the park. The children spotted letters pinned up along the route. They noted down each letter and spelled out a phrase.

At the end of the trail we were led into Santa’s grotto. A cheery Santa left the children with a small gift.

We spent some time at the newly built play park. I was pleased to notice that there is now lots of accessible play equipment. There’s a swing for disabled children, wheelchair accessible roundabout and the sea saw had large chairs on either side, perfect for the little toddlers. Little Dude made a bee line for the excellent music making facilities.

We just had time to squeeze in another few rides before the end of the day.
