Another Baby Girl Scrapbook page made with First Edition It’s a Girl papers.

Designer Papers

I don’t tend to use a lot of pink in my crafting but it was the perfect choice for the small mountain of baby girl photos I’ve got to scrapbook. So I treated myself to this It’s a Girl paper stack from First Edition.

I really like the First Edition papers, the quality is second to none and the designs are always versatile.

Embellishments

I particularly like the tag sheet which is included in the It’s a Girl paper pack. Having perfectly co-ordinating embellishments handy makes it easy to add the finishing touches to a scrapbook layout.

I also added a card topper that I’ve removed from a commercial card that was given to me when my daughter was born.

It’s a nice way to keep some elements of the greetings cards I was given without keeping just a stack of cards. It’s also a great source of free embellishments. Especially in the case of baby cards, most of the commercial cards I received perfectly co-ordinate with the pink colour scheme I’ve inevitably chosen for most of my new baby photos.

I’ve added a little bit of organza ribbon to some of the tags to tie them all in together.

Scrapbook Page Title

I have a stack of cards that people gave me when my daughter was born. I found one with a title that suited the papers – an easy job when everything’s pink! I cut around the title and added it to my scrapbook page. I love that I’m making use of these cards and keeping them without having to store a pile of baby cards.

Distress Inking

I usually ink the edges of most of the elements on my scrapbook pages. I love how it creates a sense of consistency across the whole project. For this layout I’ve chosen Spun Sugar distress ink.

I use a distress inking tool to sweep the ink onto the edges of my paper pieces. It’s a super easy way to add some depth and dimension to a scrapbook page.
