This cute robot card is the perfect antidote to the traditional floral, cutesy valentines cards.  I mean really what bloke wants a card with a teddy bear on it??  A robot now that’s a different matter!

Digital Stamping

The digital stamp is by Polly Craft who are unfortunately no longer open, which is a real shame as her designs were really lovely.

I print my digital stamps onto Winsor & Newton Bleedproof Marker paper. It’s bright white so my colours really pop and it also helps to stop the inks bleeding into each other.

I’ve coloured my robot with Winsor & Newton BrushMarkers. Here’s the shade’s I’ve used:

Designer Papers

I’ve used an old paper stack from First Edition, It’s called Sweet Nothings. I love it’s romantic but not too cutesy style, perfect for this male orientated valentines card.

The edges of the layers have been distressed with a deep pink colour which gives the card a fabulous grungy feel to it.

I’ve done this using Tim Holtz Distress ink pads and an applicator tool.

A Little Embellishment

The card is accented with silver gems for a touch of sparkle.

I use a pair of precision tweezers to position these just perfectly.

Greeting

I’ve added a simple little greeting which reads “My Love”.  So this card would be perfect for an anniversary card as well as for Valentines Day.

The greeting in hand cut from the First Edition Sweet Nothing Paper Pad.  It’s stuck in place with a 3D foam pad to give it a bit of dimension.

Take a Peak Inside

I think it’s such a shame to receive a beautifully decorated card only to open it and be faced with a blank page. So I use more of my designer papers to decorate the insides of my cards. I mostly use scraps leftover from the main design and a 10cm square of plain paper to write a nice message onto.
